Your new partial effectively restores the function and appearance of multiple lost teeth. Including it and your remaining natural teeth in your oral hygiene routine, will help insure that it will serve you for many years to come.

Many people with a partial like to use denture adhesive to secure the partial in place while also helping to block out food particles. If you do have food particles come between your partial and your gums, you should thoroughly rinse them and any residual adhesive away. You can then reapply more denture adhesive to the clean surface.

After taking your partial out at night you need to rinse away all residual denture adhesive. This will give you a smooth surface to re-apply the denture adhesive the next day. You should then use a soft bristled toothbrush and denture polish brush the partial and remove any residual plaque. Then you should soak the partial overnight in water and keep it in a safe place.

Once the partial is clean you should brush and floss your teeth, as you would in your regular oral hygiene routine. Make sure to floss around the gum line of the teeth neighboring the partial.
